Summer is for Sword-fighting!

These "Summer is for" posts were supposed to be "wordless" … another word for cop-out, because who can really think to write anything coherent when its either A) really, really hot outside or B) so nice outside that you've just spent all day at the beach/park/pool, etc.

That being said, I felt these shots deserved some explanation.  We were on a picnic with our dear friends and Benjamin's "cousins in Christ."  (At this juncture, I could launch into multiple paragraphs about how grateful I am for the Body of Christ, our NY family, but again with the A and B from above).  Anyway, while the mommas were cleaning up the leftovers, their oldest son decided it was time to teach Benjamin some good sword-fighting skills.  So of course, I grabbed my camera (I realize I could have stepped in to curb the violence, but hey, we are raising boys here, right?) and caught some incredible preciousness...

Note his look of intense concentration...

 Note his whole-body effort...

 Note his look of admiration...

… as if to say, "Thanks so much for teaching me this!  What would I do without my cousins?  Plus, I'll be able to pass these skills on to my younger brother and I know Momma will be so excited when we start sword-fighting around the living room!"
