Benjamin is having pictures made at JC Penney this afternoon, and I can't decide what he should wear! I'll give you my options, and whoever happens by here by 3:30 this afternoon can vote in the comments on what he should wear! I can't promise I'll go with the majority, but it will be good to get some feedback! :)
Option 1 - Brown onesie, jeans
Cute, simple, casual, I like this option. The shirt isn't blue, but the chocolate brown shows up his eyes beautifully. Concerns? The little alligator on the front says, "Chomp, Chomp" ... will that be distracting in a portrait? Other than that, this is probably the easiest option.
Option 2 - Blue and red striped romper
I like to call this outfit "Infant Irony." It has the outline of a turtle on the bottom, then a patch at the top (you can't see it in the picture) that says "Speedster." Haha. Cute, cool, comfy, the navy blue shows off his eyes. Concerns? This outfit is still a little big on him, so it might look a little rumpled in a picture? Are the stripes too much for a portrait?
Option 3 - Frog shorts outift
This precious little shorts outfit I got brand-new at a garage sale (((patting self on back))). It's super cute, and again, the blue eyes - outstanding! Concerns? The little shirt underneath is not a onesie, so it tends to start sticking out of the short-overalls before long. Also, the little overall straps tend to fall down a little, what with all the wiggling around.
Option 4 - golf shirt and jeans
Honestly, this is probably my top pick at the moment. Cute, in a little man kind of way, and again with the blue eyes. Technically, the golf shirt is a romper, so it could be worn alone without the jeans (as he did at Niagara Falls) - we'll call that Option 4A for voting purposes :) Concerns? The little golf shirt is another of my garage sale finds, and though precious, is starting to show a little age with fading/pilling. Will it look too worn in a portrait?
Ok, those are the options - what do you think?
Oh, and in case your curious, I'm planning on him going barefoot in the pictures because a) baby shoes are just way too much trouble b) those little toes-ies are just too cute to cover up! :)
Thanks for your help!
I like the 4th one as well. I don't think the wear will show up in the pictures unless there is a real close up. Bonus, you can take the pants off for a change up, but easier. And I agree with the barefoot thing! Good luck at pictures. We go to JcP too, do you have the portrait membership? It's a must, it was almost like free when we went for family pic's and then no sitting fees for 2 years no matter how many are in the picture (we did some with Joe's family and had 11 people), also with the $3.99 coupons (and the free 8x10) - you can get those coupons out of most baby magazines or print off online!
ReplyDeleteOption 4. I like bright colours.
ReplyDelete4 (and 4a)
ReplyDeleteI like option 3 and 4a. Both will look great with his eyes. Since it's summertime, I think shorts are the best way to go.
ReplyDeleteI hope the photoshoot goes well!

Option 3 is my fav., but you know my affection for frogs! :) He will look great in all of them, but go with 3! :)
ReplyDeleteLove you,

Valerie.. just some thoughts..since you already have several cute pics of Benjamin in the striped romper at Niagara Falls, I would suggest going with a different outfit. I think JCP probably allows you to have at least one change of clothes so you might want to consider taking your top 2 favs for some variety in shots. Have you considered pairing jeans with the navy/red outfit? - it would cover up the turtle if you felt it would be a distraction in the pic and perhaps take in some of the "bigness" you were concerned about. Also the patriotic colors are a real plus in my family :)
ReplyDeleteWhile the frog outfit is very cute, I do agree with you that there is the potential for problems. It would be disappointing to capture your baby's perfect expression and then look closer to see his straps are falling off his shoulders or otherwise askew.
I know the photos will be great whatever outfit you choose! Let us know what your final decision is - inquiring minds want to know :)
Oh.. I forgot to sign my name - the previous post is from Shannon G.
ReplyDeleteI like 4a the best :) --Cindy
