"This was not my plan -
It's so much better than."
We remembered picking up all those thousands of pecans last Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad and Mattie (and the awesome turkey we made that had to soak in a 5-gallon bucket in the basement overnight! :)

We remember all kinds of road trips we've taken together while listening to this CD - hilarious moments, times when we were dating and trying to figure out what the other was thinking. Such sweet times!
And remembering one trip brings memories of another trip, another occasion, another holiday, so I started looking back through pictures - such sweet times and precious gifts it makes my heart ache a little
How thankful I am for sweet memories - for the loved ones who've surrounded us, for the ability to travel and do things, and for the ability to remember such precious days. God is so good to give us community!
We're big fans of Andrew Peterson too! He has such a gift of weaving a story in song. I've always liked the lyric you mentioned. Enjoyed looking at your photos - you looked beautiful at Texas de Brazil! Enjoy your pecan pie!
ReplyDeleteShannon, I didn't know you were AP fans - do you know his Christmas album "Behold the Lamb of God" - we absolutely love it and he does a Christmas concert every year at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville. We went last year and vowed that it would be our new Christmas tradition - then we had to move to NY, so I feel like I should pass along the word - its completely worth it! :)
ReplyDeleteValerie... What a coincidence - right as I pulled up your site I could hear Todd listening to AP's song "Passover Us" in the kitchen while he cleaned the dishes :) Although it is a Christmas album - we listen to some of the songs on that album year-round (nice that iPods make that possible :)
ReplyDeleteWe actually got to see AP, Jill Phillips & Sara Groves, et al do their "Behold the Lamb of God" Christmas Concert a couple of years ago at BBC. Of course, the Ryman would be a better venue :) We've been able to see a couple of concerts there over the years (most notably Allison Krauss). AP's concert was definitely one of our post-Dr. Rogers highlights at BBC - as well as seeing the Gettys in concert. Both were such worshipful & moving experiences. "Behold the Lamb" quickly became our new favorite Christmas album. Todd and I would be proud to carry on your new tradition in your stead - if only our budget allowed. :)
